ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for
a Senior Accountant to join our team with Dilawri
Group of Companies The successful candidate is someone who is
passionate about the automotive industry and eager to contribute to our growing
team.
Key
Responsibilities:
·
Full cycle accounting including month end and
year end close processes, journal entries, invoicing, bank and general ledger
reconciliations
·
Month end financial statement preparation and
analysis for multiple automotive dealerships
·
Accounts receivable and accounts payable
oversight and review
·
Balance sheet schedule maintenance
·
Prepare third party quarterly and year end
reporting
·
Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness
of financial information
·
Support and assist clerks with daily tasks
and duties
·
GST and PST filing preparation
·
Prepare manufacturer financial statements
·
Liaise with dealership department managers
·
Understanding of internal controls and their
importance
·
Expense and inventory analysis
·
Assist with yearend financial statement audit
requests
·
Process and review payroll
·
Ensure all standard accounting policies,
procedures and controls are consistently and accurately applied
ABOUT YOU:
·
Minimum 3 years work experience in an
accounting role
·
University degree in Business/Accounting is
an asset
·
Canadian professional accounting designation
(Chartered Professional Accountant) or working towards a Canadian designation
is considered an asset but not required
·
Experience in the automotive industry and
familiarity with CDK is considered an asset
·
Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel
·
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of
accounting policies and procedures
·
Excellent level of communication and
relationship building skills to develop strong working partnerships with team
members and management
·
Strong organizational, time management and
prioritizing skills
·
Ability to be efficient and effective while
working independently and within a team
·
Able to work well under pressure and meet set
deadlines
